Hug a therapy Cobberdog or Labradoodle!
Australian Labradoodles, and Cobberdogs are the ultimate therapy dog. Australian Labradoodles and Cobberdogs have the strength and endurance mixed with the gentle intuitive nature that is essential for a therapy companion dog. Australian Cobberdogs and Labradoodles are able to learn the necessary tasks quickly, and are very reliable therapy dogs.
The Australian Labradoodle was created to serve! In 1988 Wally Conron crossed a Poodle and a Labrador Retriever for the sole purpose of meeting the need of a blind gentleman who also suffered from allergies. The first litter of three Labradoodles was a success with each of the three moving into the therapy world. One puppy was allergy friendly enough to be able to move into the home of the blind gentleman and serve as his guide dog. The very first Labradoodles were therapy dogs and ever after they have been in the front lines bringing independence and a sense of security to the people around them. I have heard from so many of the families who have adopted our therapy quality Australian Labradoodles and Cobberdogs, “This dog/puppy has changed our lives” “He/She has drawn our family closer together and created a place of peace”!

A wonderful conversation starter!
I would like to put together a list of links to stories of these heroic therapy Australian Labradoodles and Cobberdogs, and the therapeutic services they have given to their human companions! This is one of my passions! I love to read stories about Cobberdogs and Labradoodles, therapy and better yet I love, love, love to know that one of our own Labradoodles or Cobberdogs has made a difference in a persons life. Labradoodles and Cobberdogs have so much to offer and give so completely. All they ask for is a human to love and the basic needs met! Of course the tendency is to spoil them rotten after we have allowed them to steal our hearts and placed themselves as chief of comfort and silliness in our worlds! I have slowly been adding stories of our own about therapy Labradoodles and Cobberdogs, therapy dogs that were born and raised her at Arrowhead. I think that you will agree with me that one of the best day brighteners is a good read about a kind act, or a heroic deed! If you have a story to tell that you would like to share please do e-mail it too me, I would love to hear it and share it here! Please continue reading below to hear from customers who have purchased therapy Cobberdogs and Labradoodles from Arrowhead…
Christy…”We could not be happier with the older puppy we adopted from Arrowhead this August. Having just gone through the very fun, yet tiring very young puppy phase with our first dog last year, we knew we wanted to adopt an older puppy or adult Australian Labradoodle as the second dog for our family.
As I researched prospective Australian Labradoodle breeders, my visit to Arrowhead cemented that this was the best choice for us. I was so impressed with the care the dogs received and the obvious love that the Erb family has for them.
When we considered adopting an older puppy, we worried about early socialization. Would our older puppy be good with adults and kids? Would our older puppy be good with other dogs? I probably should not have worried so much! Our puppy, adopted at eight months, is wonderful with adults, kids and other dogs.
When I visited, Luke was able to talk about the puppies’ personalities and how they would fit with our family, including our adult dog already at home..
His description of Mesha, a daughter of Maggie and Thunder, has proven spot on. He said she has a therapy dog personality and she certainly does. As a dog walker in our neighbourhood said to me this week, “she is one of the calmest eight-month-old puppies I have ever met!”.
She came to us beautifully leash-trained, with a great recall and was reliably house-trained within a couple days of joining our family. I think that speaks to both her personality and the care and work that the Erbs put into their Australian Labradoodle Cobberdogs.
I’ve been asked how we were able to adopt such a lovely older puppy and I honestly don’t know. How could another family not have snapped Mesha up months before we even met her? She was clearly so loving, kind and gentle when meeting people who came to Arrowhead.
She feels like she has always been in our family. She has settled in beautifully. She is the most loving companion — always wanting to be beside one of her humans — yet she is also a world-class wrestler with our other dog. This girl loves to play! She really enjoys long walks and, despite being raised in the quiet peace of the country, is doing great in the city.
She brings great joy to our family and we would not hesitate to adopt an older puppy from Arrowhead again. She has settled in so beautifully and quickly. We are so lucky to have her in our family!”
Ashley…”I foster one of the females for Arrowhead. To be able to have Loxley in my home and living with my other pup and I is amazing. She is so full of love and cuddles. Her playful energy is entertaining and comical. My parents have two pups from here as well and we all know we will continue to get pups from Luke and Connie.
The facilities are clean and the puppies are well socialized from all the human contact. Also great with kids as it’s a family effort at Arrowhead so the puppies are used to playing with small kids and youth. You can tell the dogs are loved and I highly recommend Arrowhead Labradoodles.”
Lexi.. “Our experience with Arrowhead was incredible from the first message to picking up our new family member. Connie was understanding, open and communicative with us and we feel because of that, we ended up with the perfect fit for our family. Dreyfus ( our dog ) is stunning – inside and out. His temperament and personality are next level amazing and he is gorgeous. He clearly was well taken care of during his time at Arrowhead. Kelly ( one of the great trainers that works with Arrowhead ) has Dre for just over a week and his time there was beneficial to all of us. He is a wonderful companion, friend and family member and we are grateful to have gotten him from Arrowhead.”
Brandon…”I got Charlie a year ago February, she will be two on December 4. She is an amazing dog with the most gentle personality. She is amazing with kids, and is a great dog to have at work with me every day. I could not be happier with my little buddy.”
Isa…”Our new doggo is a blessing. Most unbelievably calm Labradoodle with such an easy going personality who loves cuddles and great with kids. Even our vet can’t get over how easy and smart he is! No shedding is an added bonus and even friends allergic to dogs have had zero symptoms. Best.dog.ever. Can’t recommend enough Arrowhead!” |
