Meet Arrowhead's Lion of Androcles. Named after Aesop's fable of the noble friendship between a slave and a lion. The slave, Androcles, pulled a thorn from the lion's paw, after which the pair lived together in the lion's cave. Not a long time later, both Androcles and the lion were captured. Androcles was sent to be fed to the lions. As he entered the ring, a lion lunged towards him (having been starved for several days). The lion stopped in his tracks when he recognized his friend, and instead licked Androcles' hand like a dog. When the emperor heard the story, he was touched by the two noble souls and let them both go free.
Medium in height, Androcles, or Andy as he is lovingly called, is not only super gorgeous with his sable coloured wool coat, but he is also so friendly in nature. As Andy has gotten older and we have gotten to know him, we have fallen more in love with him every day! He is such a sweet and loyal soul, always ready to play but never hesitant to come back to your side for a pat and a hug. Like his father, Bosley, he is so sweet and sociable. Andy loves to run and play with dogs and humans alike. He fits his name so well and we are so excited to have Andy as part of the Arrowhead family!
